Privacy Policy
Life Saver ("this app") helps a jiu-jitsu dojo instructor record classes, upload them privately to the dojo's YouTube channel, and prepare to share them with members. This app has no developer server, and the developer does not collect any information about its users.
Use of YouTube API Services
This app uses YouTube API Services to upload videos and to check the status of the channel and videos. By using this app, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. For how Google handles information, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Information Handled and How It Is Used
- Google account credentials (such as access tokens): used only to upload to YouTube and to check the status of the channel and videos. Stored in the device keychain.
- Information received from YouTube: the channel's name, icon, and handle, whether videos longer than 15 minutes can be uploaded, and the ID and processing status of uploaded videos. Used to confirm the destination, show upload progress, and prepare sharing. Stored only on the device. Video information is deleted 30 days after upload.
- Recorded videos: saved inside this app on the device and sent to the YouTube channel you set up. After upload, they are removed from the device according to your settings. When “Delete Uploaded Videos Automatically” is turned off, uploaded videos move to the Photos app. When sound recording is turned on, microphone audio is included in the video.
- Upload details (title, description, visibility, whether the video is made for kids, and recording date and time): sent to YouTube with the video.
- Member names and email addresses: those entered by the instructor are saved only on the device. When sharing, only the email addresses are copied to the clipboard (usable only on this device and cleared after 10 minutes). This app never sends them anywhere else.
- Upload log: upload results are kept only on the device so you can check that uploads succeeded.
This app's use of information received from Google APIs, and its transfer to any other app, complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sharing with Third Parties
The videos being uploaded and their upload details are sent to YouTube (Google). When you tap “Open in Studio,” your Google account email address and channel ID are also passed to YouTube so that Studio opens with the signed-in account and channel. No other information is sent to the developer or to any other third party. This app uses no advertising or usage analytics.
Deleting Your Information
- Disconnecting under YouTube Channel in Settings revokes access to Google and removes the channel information and upload log from the device.
- You can delete videos and records on the device from Uploads. You can delete members from the Members screen.
- Deleting this app removes all information stored on the device.
- You can also revoke this app's access from the Google security settings page.
